A beautiful set of 4 vintage double egg cups from Adderley China, made in England. A crisp white background with lovely blue appliqués. The pattern is Blue Chelsea. The purpose of the 2 sides is to allow for different sized eggs (I.e. chicken vs larger duck eggs). Another use for the larger side is to keep one hard boiled egg warm while using the smaller cup for holding the egg you are currently eating. The cup is a bit too big for large chicken eggs, however it still works-likely jumbo sized eggs would fit snugly. Small cup diameter is 2 inches, large cup diameter is 2 7/8 inches. The height is 4 inches. Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs-each piece pings nicely.
